Mission: N., "A special assignment that is given to a person or group." The missions that we speak of here at FlipOnline are just that--a special "assignment", one of those little things that you look forward to, and once achieved, you get this completely giddy feeling of satisfaction. Trust me--It's all in good fun. Once we come up with a 'mission'...it just gets added to the list. If it happens...it happens. If not...*shrug* There's always next time. *grin*

Where it all began: I started the very first mission in the summer of 2002 when I vowed, "I will get a FlipStick, dammit~!!" Weeks before the 7/27/02 show at Continental Airlines Arena, I had it all worked out. As we drove to the venue in the pouring rain on the morning of the show, I couldn't help but wonder if I'd be able to complete the 'mission'. We stood in the rain...dealt with the hazy cloud cover...even got a pretty rough sunburn, but ehhh...it was worth it. *lol* Later that night when the gates finally opened, I was the very first person to get through the VIP gates. I booked inside, got my bracelet and ran like hell towards the rail. When I ran onto the floor of the venue, I was absolutely amazed that there was practically NO ONE there, just a few random people walking aimlessly across the floor. I had my pick of any spot I wanted! *oface* It was kind of overwhelming at first, so I just grabbed a spot RIGHT in front of Mark and held onto the rail for dear life. It felt like an eternity that I stood there waiting for the crowd to come rushing up behind me. About two minutes later, the entire rail was full...Kelly was right to my left and I must say that I was quite content with my 'spot.'

During the first song, I held up my sign for Scott. He saw it, laughed, gave a little wave and a 'rock on'. During the third song of the night...('What If', which was one of my favorite songs BEFORE this ever happened...*lol*) I held up my sign for Flip and >>BAM POW<<, a 'Flipstick' came hurling at me mid-song...I caught it with one hand, shrieked and yelled, "OH MY GAWDD!!" Next thing I know, Holly was practically climbing over the rail to get to me. She gave me a high five and a huge hug. We looked at each other still practically in shock and said, "Mission Accomplished!!!" in unison. She gave me another hug before we went back to enjoying the show. Back at the hotel that night, everyone teased me relentlessly asking where "THE STICK" was. Once we finally settled into our room, oh... around 4am...I got this uncontrollable fit of giggles. Just ask Holly, Karen or Carol. I was SO excited. Something SO simple. SO...trivial. But it still meant SO much. Soon enough, the giggles caught on and Carol was hysterical laughing with me. It's true; they really are contagious. *lol* Anyway...it was right then that I said, "Ok...that's it. I *NEED* to have another mission." I thought about it for a few minutes because I wanted to make it something that I didn't necessarily think I would be able to achieve. Finally, I said, "That's it. Next mission is a pictureeee. I want a PICTURE with Scott." The giggles died down after about a half an hour, but the next mission was already planned. Little did I know that it would actually be another "Mission Accomplished" by the end of the following month~!!! A few weeks later, I filled Kelly in on my list of 'missions' and she laughed at me, but liked the idea. I think it's safe to say, the missions really give me a little something 'extra' to look forward to...plus...I MUST say, we've had LOADS of fun in the process, which is what it's really all about.

A'ight kids....make sure to stay tuned for more details about the "Flip Stick Chick Missions." You never know when I'm gonna come up with something new to add to the list because it usually just comes up in conversation and next thing you know, the list is a lil' bit longer. You'd be surprised just how many have been 'accomplished' in such a short amount of time...and really without even trying~!!!!! But then again...it's all been made possible simply because....'FLIP ROCKS'~!!
