sold vacuum cleaners for 2 months and also worked at Pizza Hut
for three years. (Note---I have NO idea what order these actually

Scott's brother, Todd, is also a drummer. So, yeah...besides
that and I used to have this...'THING' for the guy's HAIR...its
just...INCREDIBLE. My vote is for the mohawk to come back!!
hehehe...Don't ask. lol...ANYway...Four Years Past has 'officially'
broken up, which ROTS. Though they did give a one night "reunion" show in the Spring of 2006. They were still a great band...great
music...their cd, "Surface" just plain
ROCKS. I *highly* recommend checking some of the older
stuff, which can still be purchased through Screamline.
Go there. Now.

Scott played the saxophone throughout middle school and high school
marching band. Also took four years of piano lessons when he was
about seven or eight. Finally decided to grab the sticks and hit
the drums in his Senior Year.

Flip and Todd come from a very 'musical' family. Looks like there's
a whole line of musicians that they picked up the trait from:
Dad was the big time jazz influence and he also played the trumpet...while
Mom was the pianist and even knew a lil' bit of guitar, too. But
still...Scott credits his Grandma for passing down the musical
gene: "She taught piano her whole life and just had a real
good sense for music. She could play by ear and all that stuff.
[She] Passed it on to my dad, who I guess kind of passed it on
to me. And I got the bug for it an an early age."
~
The first 'real rock band' Scott was in was called "Crosscut"
~
The nickname "Flip" was the brainchild of Mike Tremonti (Mark's
brother) and according to Flip..."its just a play on my last name."
~
Flip 'stole' the Creed gig from some guy named, 'Dane'. (ahem...on
a side note...'Move your feet, lose your seat', bud!!)
~
First 'gig' was in January 1995 ~ Open Mic Night at "Yianni's"
~
His grandfather bought him his first 'used' kit...up until that
point, he had only used 'borrowed kits' to 'work his magic'
~
Mr. Phillips (his dad!!) co-signed a loan for him to get his first
'real' set...A Premier Genista Kit w/a Gibraltar rack & Zildjian
cymbals
~
Played in the jazz band while at North Florida Junior College
before he headed off to Florida State University as a business
major.
~
Both of Scott's parents were teachers in Madison, Florida.
