At the Pittston, PA show on February 16, 2005, Scott agreed to sit down with Kelly & I for a
"quick interview"...but once we got talking about stuff, Scott quickly overshot our time limit and didn't seem to give a damn, which is par for the course
with the good natured guy that he is. Michael gave us the heads up that we'd need to wrap it up about 20 minutes after the fact since it was getting time
for their set...but since Scott had been pretty long-winded (Not that we minded at ALL, but do ya think he got that from me?! *lol*) with some of his earlier
responses, even running long, we still didn't get to finish the whole interview.
Of course, there were some "Creed" related questions, and upon reviewing
the way things went, it started to seem like Scott brought up the Creed conversation first, and that a lot brought that back into the conversation during
the interview-however, you need to keep in mind that this was before the Alter Bridge "now" versus Creed "before" debate had been absolutely beaten to
a pulp. I was waiting on some additional info, and also have the site upgraded before I posted this, but since there are still a few hold ups with things-and
the boards have been rather d-e-a-d everywhere, I'm optimistic that this will perk up a little interest to get us along with a bit of "new stuff" until the
boys head back on the road or do SOMEthing exciting for us to report on. lol
This video of this interview wasn't really taken with the purpose of being posted, or else it would have been done differently--(it probably wouldn’t
have been set up looking like we were interrogating the poor boy!! HahhA!!) Kelly just set it up as a back-up in case the audio recorder had failed.
Once it was done and over and we got to watch through it--we decided to go ahead and post the video since the audio quality on the video was actually
better than the original audio recording. I have to say though--its definitely better footage of Scott than the VERY few clips we got during that 60
questions crap! Lol
I tried to edit down the majority of the entire interview to be just Scott's responses without alot of the hub-bub in between (with the exception of
a follow up question or two, plus bit of laughter here and there!). I will write out the question that was asked, and then post the link to the file
for you to download and view. Each clip varies in length-some are insanely short, while others go on for quite a while.
Scott deserves a major "Thank You!" for being as incredibly gracious as he always is...for being an honest and good-natured guy, and for wholeheartedly
supporting this site from even *before* Day One. Many thanks also go out to Michael, who was a good sport for letting me pick on him a little bit towards
the end of the interview. Ohhh...and we must give props to Mr. Mark Tremonti ("...on lead guitarrr!") for inadvertently providing
the backing tracks on the video, as well. *snort* "Ow Owww...break it down now!" Yes, there was a brief moment where Mark broke out of the "doo dell ee
doos" and went into this cool groove that caused Kelly & I look at each other and actually pay more attention to listening to Mark in the other room
than to Scott's answer to the question we had just asked! Whoops...! (but then he went back to his "doo dell ee doos" and we quickly zoned back in on “the
important one.” *snickers*) Kelly & I hope that you guys enjoy this as much as we did... It was a fantastic experience that we came away with some
incredible memories of and I hope to be able to bring you the conclusion of the interview at some other point in time!
Happy viewing!! *waves*

Question One: Being that you started playing at an older age and had other musical interests prior to the drums--tell us about how you started drumming:
Answer
Question Two: When did Crosscut come into play? (I think this question was an unexpected blast from the past for him! *chuckles*)
Answer
Question Three: Tell us about your musical influences, past & present: (And for the record, this one always makes me giggle--the "noisy Tony" was "Brian's Tony", not Tony Adams...)
Answer
Question Four: Garrett (from Submersed) has openly talked with us on several occasions about what a great inspiration
you were in him getting started on the drums and that's it's a "dream come true" for him to be touring with you. Your thoughts on that?
Answer
Question Five: Do you find you're able to learn a lot from some younger drummers like Garrett?
Answer

Question Six: You've gotten the reputation as somewhat of a good-natured jokester...and it seems that Garrett has a great collection of
drumheads with some terrific drawings. Who do you have the most fun picking on?
Answer
Question Seven: As we've been talking about influences, I get a lot of emails and comments from drummers who absolutely idolize you,
wanting to know what you play, how to meet you...all that sort of stuff. Do you have a hard time imagining yourself as "that rockstar"...being
someone else's "Will Calhoun?" How have you managed to stay so humble?
Answer
Question Eight: (With the previous answer of being "odd" and "tough to comprehend"…) Do you feel a lot of pressure to live up to your
fans expectations?
Answer
Question Nine: How do you keep your double bass chops up, and can you offer up any tips for double bass playing?
Answer
Question Ten: What is your role in the creative process of Alter Bridge, be it with songwriting (lyrics), or the actual instrumental
compositions?
Answer

Question Eleven: Discussion about experiences with being "held back" creatively...I was trying to steer back away from some Creed talk, but
yeah...wasn't gonna happen. I did try to be "nice" about it.... (BTW--The beginning of this where Scott starts talking is that cool groove that we
were diggin'...you can kinda hear Kelly & I laugh about it. I think she said, "nice lil' tune goin’ on in there!" lol Yeah...we completely zoned
out from Scott talkin' there for a few seconds...oops! hahah...)
Answer
Question Twelve: Do you feel that Weathered in a way was a "sell out?" Like something that was put out there just to *be* out there…do you
feel that it was top quality?
Answer
Question Thirteen: You mentioned production--how was it different working with Ben Grosse this time, versus John Kurzweg in the past?
Answer
Question Fourteen: Continued conversation regarding drummers, production work and radio air play--
Answer
Question Fifteen: Everything is very "Mark & Myles show" right now, so when do you think we'll be seeing more of you in
the drum publications?
Answer

Question Sixteen: Your first magazine cover--what was that like? How weird was that for you?
Answer
Question Seventeen: What’s the difference for you the first time hearing Creed on the radio versus the first time hearing
Alter Bridge on the radio? Is this project more considered "your baby"?
Answer
Question Eighteen: Now, you guys have Alter Bridge and I think most people agree with the idea of Alter Bridge NOT doing Creed
songs in concert--of course, Stapp hasn't taken that road, and quite frankly, butchered a few songs on national television. What do you think
about Stapp going out, getting new members and say, putting out a new album with the Creed name--can he use the name?
Answer
Question Nineteen: Now, the final question on that topic, the Greatest Hits cd that got put out--if you could have put it out
differently, or on your own terms, what would you have done differently with it?
Answer
Question Twenty: What's your favorite song on One Day Remains and your favorite song to play live?
Answer
Question Twenty One: Certainly some things are different now from the days of being a bachelor on the road, to being a husband and
father on the road, so how have you and April managed to keep somewhat of a normal childhood for your daughter so far? How has she changed
your life?
Answer
